Review: There needs to be a law that holds credit card issuing banks and other institutions legally liable for issuing credit cards to the wrong party. I continue to recieve unsolicited cards and my postmaster frequently intercepts card offers in my name being sent to an address that's not mine.

Review: As a Pre-Paid Legal Associate the serious concerns for idenity theft has reached an epidemic level for hard working individuals who value their credibility and financial reputation. My daughter was at a party and a check was stolen from her purse which he tried to cash at the bank and they question the transaction and called her at work. This person had a criminal record already of this nature. I fear this to be the greatest growing crime of our nation which could ruin the future of so many. Idenity protection is at the top of my families priority so we MUST be smart with our credit history and the information given out. I do not give info over the phone concerning my profile and am careful who knows what my assets are. Please keep us informed in the daily attempts to steal and traumatize our future of integrity and belief in our financial lives.

Review: Erroneous information has been put into my wife's credit file with Equifax, Experian, and Transunion for years. We get it removed and more gets put in. The credit bureaus seem not to care about it even though we have complained about it regularly. Just recently some bogus information was put into my wife's file by Bank of America alleging a credit card debt. She has never done business with Bank of America and Bank of America has not responded to her letter telling them that the filing is erroneous. The credit bureau (Equifax) says she must get it cleared with Bank of America. She is in a Catch 22. Any suggestions?

Review: And before I forget, I suspect most creditors are ignoring fraud alerts as I had those for months, and never did get a call to validate any credit applications. EVER. I am not sure that they are really paying attention to the freeze either.

Review: I am a current ID theft victim. And no matter what anybody tells you, there is no current solution to the problem. I have a freeze on, but one of the bureaus is so hopelessly out of date, they can't even do that right. Let alone keep up with who has deleted what fraud accounts, they seem to delete them and then later re add them. You can even send them copies of the letters from creditors attesting to the fact it is not yours, all to no avail. And since the Feds don't seem to care, and the local law enforcement have limited resources, not much is really going to happen. Since this is a pain free crime (for those who commit it), there will be not stopping it until we are all victims.
