Review: KKD close the only shop closet to me in Clarksville, TN after I had my third child. They were my 530 am wake up call. I have to agree witht the majority. KKD are best hot off the line. As for seeing someone make them for me, I really don't care to see all that. I really don't buy doughnuts anymore, due to the fact they are cold and sometimes stale. I hope KKD can figure out how to cut cost without effecting the finished product. I have a few ideas, but I'll share them later.

Review: I am a born-and-bred Southerner and a longtime KKD fan. But the posters here are right when they say selling cold doughnuts in supermarkets, convenience stores etc., was a major mistake for the company. Their doughnuts are like Cafe du Monde beignets in New Orleans--they're only good when hot and fresh off the line. KKD needs to shut down its out-of-chain sales altogether. Doughnuts sold that way tend to be cold and stale, and when people do buy them, it cannibalizes their in-chain sales. Make Krispy Kremes a scarce commodity again and watch the financials soar.

Review: The glazing on the doughnuts was too sweet and too thick for my taste. A little bit less glaze and it would perfect.

Review: I agree the convenience store thing was a bad idea but more importantly, KK must reduce the operating costs of their stores. People go to KK to buy donuts not watch elaborate, expensive conveyors make donuts. This isn't rocket science. Develop a cheaper way of making the donuts without affecting the quality or taste. That will allow the individual stores to operate on a lower margin and not need 1,000 customers an hour to keep the store open. Hope the chain fixes its problems. They closed the only store (in Mass.) that was close to me. They are still the best donuts sold anywhere.

Review: A boxed KKD sold at the grocery store tastes like any other stale, day-old donut. Sell them only when they are fresh, hot and hard to get.

Review: This stock tanked before, and it will tank again. The problems facing this company are legendary, no matter what a fresh-faced new CEO may be saying on his first few days on the job. The Street comes out saying to ignore domestic and go after overseas sales. Yeah, like that's going to happen overnight! Good luck!

Review: KKHolder is right--KKD's convenience store displays are a real turnoff. And I have never bought a KKD glazed donut that wasn't undercooked and too doughy! I tried several places, then gave up--not worth it!

Review: Wake Up! With 100 million Americans in the obese to morbidly-obese bracket, it's time to stop eating these things anyway! One KKD contains twice the fat of a Big Mac. One doughnut--that warm, squidgy dough you see when you sink your teeth into a fresh KKD is pretty much how it looks clogging up your arteries a few days later. For me, there's no turning back. Sure, they taste great, but they're slowly killing you. No such thing as a balanced diet that includes doughnuts.

Review: Hot Krispy Creme's? What a concept. Here on Oahu, people have tried to make a fundraiser out of selling the donuts door to door or at sporting events. When their not hot, who wants them? Good luck to Jeff and Daryl!

Review: KK has the best donuts bar none. They shouldn't try to fix that part because it isn't broken. Bottom line is the need to focus on fundamentals. Their stores are dirty and nasty and so are their convenience store displays. Get some good managers out in the field and take the whole thing up a notch!
