Review: Samsung and LG will kill Whirlpool in no time. Look at the innovation from Samsung & LG versus Whirlpool - no comparision.
Whirlpool has a nice PR machine to get the articles out.

Review: I gagged reading about Whirlpool Innovator Consultants and In. Training. I thought Whirlpool was simply a great company, but was wrong. I bought WP LSW9750 washer. It won't drain per the manual and WP customer service is slow and poor. Ridiculous!

Review: I would like to offer a different perspective on this article. I am not so certain Ms. Snyder deserves or has earned the accolades she has received due to her work at Whirlpool. I see little to note "innovative" in Whirlpool's product offering. My washer still uses way too much energy and water and my diswasher is still too noisy, my refrigerator breaks down too often and it takes forever to cook a roast in my oven. Perhaps my standards for innovation are too high. However, I also am not seeing much impact on my dividends as a Whirlpool stock holder. I am certain Ms. Snyder is talented and accomplished but she also appears to be significantly over-rated based on the results I have seen thus far.

Review: As with all large multi-national corporate entities, cultural framebreaking such as this attempt are laudable, but much harder work than this article alludes to. Innovation teams that either exclude the top-tier in-house industrial designers, or teams that misrepresent those designers as value-adding only by their ability to "sketch my team's idea" short changes the ambition of the project, demoralizes the global design group, and works agains a corporate culture of teamwork and innovation. The challenges are out there, and I think Whirlpool is up to it. But the layers of management between Snyder and those executing the dream have an opportunity to engage and buy-in that is currently not apparent. By the way, I got my first new Whirlpool fridge and it rocks.

Review: Good for Whirlpool! It's exciting to read about a company which successfully solicits ideas from its employees. Congratulations to Nancy Snyder for tackling the assignment and spearheading this strategic innovation movement. The strong support of innovation shown by CEO Jeff Fettig set the stage for the teams of innovators. As an HR professional, it's inspiring to me to read about a company that encourages ideas to bubble up from all levels and rewards the contributors. (By the way, my family bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer set five years ago. It's been easy to use, reliable, and a good value.) I look forward to seeing the new products in Whirlpool's pipeline!

Review: Have you ever owned a Whirlpool refrigerator?
Every Whirlpool Fridge in my family and friends has been a dud, along with a disasterous repair! As a matter of fact, I'm still waiting on a freezer shelf that was never shipped with the original fridge bought in August 2005. And the bowing on the freezer side continues to worsen on the replacement fridge, the same problem on the original. The bowing is so bad that the shelves fall off and the auger/ice bin will not fit properly resulting in the freezer door not closing! I paid $1232.04 not including installation for this piece of crap that doesn't even maintain even temperature control. I can't believe that I let the woman at Lowes talk me into a Whirlpool as my mother had an even worse problem with a Whirlpool fridge. I did own a pretty good Kenmore once.
Whirlpool and "innovation"?

Review: An excellent article in several ways. First, it actually gives specific information and examples of how Whirlpool got there instead of generalities.
Second, it openly talks about the problems with senior management buy-in and the need for 100% employee involvement.

Review: Very important work - both in the underlying philosophy and the way it enables people to be more satisfied with their work.
