Review: Patents are a constitutional issue--not just civil. There is no PTO penalty for not bringing an idea to fruition and should never be. If the PTO eventually finds against NTP, that will send a dangerous message. It would be like buying a new car and just because you don't ever drive it, it's okay for your neighbor to steal it.

Review: NTP put it on paper, RIM made it happen, Patent office stated that NTP's patents are not affected. What more do you want? Isn't the patent office where you need to go? They themselves stated that NTP's patents haven't been infringed upon. Let RIM continue to build its superior product. I could see if NTP has something physical and tangible, but they don't. RIM made a superior product and now everyone loves it. I personally have a BlackBerry and would never give it up. I've had Treo, Palm, and HPP, and in my opinion the BlackBerry is a better product. It's affordable, and the third party applications are great. I'm a businesswoman with no need for MP3 players and cameras on my business phone. Go RIM! I know you have businesses supporting you.

Review: Hi!
The patent court has made a final ruling that one of the 5 NTP patents is invalid. They had previously ruled that all 5 of the patents were invalid in a preliminary decision.

Review: I don't own a BlackBerry but all the drama in the dispute caught my attention. Won't be surprised to see a movie out of this one day.
I personally would like to see the absolute final decision from the Patent office on all the NTP patents.
I can appreciate RIM's position since it grew its business and market share and got rich with innovation and hard work.
NTP seems to want to just
get rich, period. Sure, they may have been first to build and register the technology as an idea but
$450 million isn't enough? Come on.
RIM needs to get some credit
for taking the idea and building a business - something that isn't easy to do, either.

Review: It's a patent infringement, period! BlackBerry should be forced to shut down. The jury has spoken. Didn't the judge hear them?
