Review: The whole "Will people buy diesels?" argument should be "Will congress and the EPA allow people to buy affordable diesels?" Our bretheren all over the world enjoy wonderful diesel engines, why couldn't we have standardized with them on setting emission limits. No, we have to have our own rules, and constantly change them. To answer the question will we buy them? yes! now just design reasonable cars around them rather than making it additional money to option a diesel engine.

Review: A fuel efficient diesel with POWER will sell (ex: VW's 10 cyl)! If diesel fuel becomes the standard, the price of diesel will drop.

Review: A few comments:
I live in philly and saw a few mid-atlantic people looking for cheap diesel. I get B20(20% biodiesel) for the same price as diesel 12th & vine.
Also West Philadelphia High School students built a hiybrid biodiesel car that is faster then a lamborginni off the line and gets 58mpg-
I am tired of hearing excuses from auto makers..LET US HAVE SOME TECHNOLOGY...

Review: The first company that "brings" (because our 'teams' are always behind) a turbo diesel to the minivan will lead sales in this country within a year or two. We had the Grand Caravan. Every minor mod I could come up with (including air-shocks in the rear to increase aerodynamics only would get us 25 on the highway and 17 around town. Give me 28-35 with a turbo diesel, and I'd buy the un-manly eyesore minivan again.

Review: 1. Polution is not the cause of asma, duh.
2. I bought a VW TDI several years ago knowing fuel prices were going up, up, up. We love 40-50+ mpg!!!
3. What is our governments problem? Do they want cleaner running vehicles or don't they?
4. These are a small interest group/money issues representing big industry somewhere... plain and simple.

Review: Please have the manufacturers that currently sell diesel vehicles everywhere else bring them to the U.S. I want to have the choice of a diesel engine in a compact truck, sedan, SUV, etc. Bring them and we will buy them. I am retired now, and will not buy another new vehicle unless I can get one of the various diesel v\powered vehicles currently available elsewhere around the world. I would particularly like the Hilux diesel compact truck, but if Ford is first to bring in their currently available diesel ranger, I will consider it.
