Review: It's good to hear that GM is considering smaller companies like Wipro. However, my question is who is going to manage these multiple vendors? Is it GM or it will outsource that too?

Review: I think it's great to see a mega-enterprise like GM diverisfying its outsourcing to companies with the best value proposition. Companies like Wipro have a great business model that is not only based on low cost, but superb delivery capability. HP has also done a fabulous job of transforming itself, as well. Companies like EDS need to really reassess themselves because they no longer can rely on past relationships. Internationalization has really challenged the IT professionals in the USA. Others have caught up to us. This is a good wake-up call to all of us that we can no loger just sit back on our laurels and expect everyone to worship us.

Review: How naive I've been. I was thought by buying American I could save American jobs. As an IT professional, I'm saddened that GM has taken this step. I'm afraid I would rather buy a Japanese automobile than support GM's outsourcing practices. Looks like it's everyone for themselves.

Review: Its good to know that GM has found other ways to cut costs. Thanks to outsourcing GM has a chance. On the IT front it's interesting to see smaller companies like Wipro competing with the consulting biggies like Capgemini.

Review: With these contracts the GM stakeholders stand to benefit economically, and all IT risks are now managed by parties who specialize in IT services. This helps GM to leverage the economies of large scale that exists in the global supply chain of IT Services in India. This would economically empower the Indian to buy all kind of GM products and services, which would translate into more net repatriated (to US) profits.

Review: Still, giving the money outside the USA doesn't do well in my book. It's nothing like adding to the unemployed IT professionals in the USA just becuase big business doesn't want to pay for the skilled help. Sooner or later this will come back to haunt them and other companies that practice this method!

Review: Congrats to GM for moving away from traditional ways and bringing in innovation in mega outsourcing. Also significant is Wipro being chosen as the tier one supplier. Everyone watch out!

Review: I wonder where is the remaining business. We are talking about $7.5 billion awarded contracts but when we sum all, more than $1 billion is missing: EDS: $3.8 Billions HP: $700 million Cap Gemini: $500 million IBM: $500 million Wipro: $300 million Where are the remaining $1.2 billions? I could not find anything in any newswire. Does it mean that Covinsit, which has been awarded contracts also but with no amount disclosed took these $1.2 billion of business?
