Review: The Fiat group is, in fact, among the foremost innovators in the automotive industry. The common rail diesel engine that they developed as their first diesel in the mid '90s is now imitated/copied by every major manufacturer except VW. Their new direct-injection petrol is astonishing. The standard production, 2-cylinder 900cc develops 110bhp!!! With regards to reliability, I think that the Which Car customer satisfaction survey is a better measure than an individual anecdote. Fiat finished ahead of Toyota, the so-called benchmark in reliability, who incidentally withdrew 800,000 cars with safety/quality issues last week!!
