Review: Great article. I have to disagree with the comment left by 'missmt" who wrote, "she (Oprah) still shouldn't have done what she did on a live broadcast for millions to see." This comment implies that Oprah had foreknowledge that the book written by James Frey was really a novel and not a memoir. Obviously, she had no such knowledge which is why she went on air and genuinely apologized to her fans. Taking Gallos advice, all Frey and his publisher had to do was admit their mistake, apologize, and move on. In the end, he would have ended up with a larger and more loyal fan base and, not least of all, his integrity intact.

Review: My Dad was a dentist who had a wonderful chairside manner. He had a way of making patients feel that nothing was more important to him when they were in the chair than them. As a market researcher I have tried to bring that principle to my practice. I am genuinely interested in what every person I interview has to say. Nothing is more important to me than them. Sometimes to my clients' consternation I love to give the people in my groups or interviews time to find their thoughts. It's when they trust me that their "guard" drops and they reveal what is important to them and ultimately to my clients. Thanks for the article.

Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this article as I am a huge Oprah fan. I am also familiar with the companies you discussed in your article and couldn't agree with you more. As an English major and communications minor I feel that it is important to earn trust. Trust and good communication open the doors for great relationships and opportunities.

Review: Yeah, but she still shouldn't have done what she did on a live broadcast for millions to see. He's just a person who made a mistake. Why try to drive the nails in deeper? I, like thousands of others on Oprah's message board, are very disappointed in Oprah.
