Review: Any effort or true business application leading to the reduction in health care expense, be it automated billing process or a government administered HMO focusing on preventive health care, is one that I'd support on any level.

Review: As long as there is no national coordination and David Brailer thinks that outsourcing important matters such as tracking the health of the nation is the best route, the U.S. will never have an effective IT application for tracking the health of the nation. Even Jonathan Bush's operation has to get medical records tracking matters solved before he is content to offer an IPO and now admits that athenahealth is, at best, a billing service with an installed base of 6,000. What the nation needs is a medical records tracking system that also takes care of billing, not the other way round, as may now become the case. There needs to be a way to link the medical records of the patients of the more than 575,000 practicing physicians, whether they are in solo or group practice or work for HMOs or hospitals, as well as take care of billing issues. With current lack of government guidance, it appears that there won't be.
