Review: I feel that Sephora has not taken away from any department store's cosmetic counter. I feel that if the high end retailers paid more attention to a new customer just like a frequent customer Sephora would be out of the picture. There is always the pleasure of having any sample you want granted from Sephora, but can you say that about most cosmetic counters after you have spent a bundle. I am sure management is not great at Sephora or the pay,but most jobs today are hitting a low with increasing cost of living. For the person without their choice of shade; think about what you would do when your favorite cosmetic counter employee leaves her job will your shade be in stock every time?

Review: Recently, I visited a Sephora store in Annapolis, MD. Yes, it covered the "names" from A-Z, but despite carrying huge stock supplies, they could not cover the entire spectrum of colors/shades -- mine was not found! What good was it? Additionally, having worked for patent attorneys, I questioned the authenticity of the products ... could any be "knockoffs"? I feel much more comfortable shopping at my readily available department store where I know the salesperson by first name, and she knows me! My brand, color and type is always available! I think these stores are more suitable for the young, inexperienced, untested and uncertain nubile customer.

Review: I agree to say..Sephora has a unique operation system that defines the confidential growth for the expansion in the retail industry.
The company has great aspect and plans of elevating the standards of each employee, by attempting the progressive training. The innovation is successful, but what needs to be focus on?! Great performance? great services? Who are these people that can help the company? The employees...
those who work on stage, many talented employees are buried under bad management. I've been in the company for more than 2 years, with enthusiastic work performance. But I often feel my hardwork has been abused with such low salary.
I've seen a good store manager who recognizes me and also the one that pretends to be good store manager, and only try to run a show and fraud the success of hardwork to herself. When regional managers visit, I highly recommend the visit date should be kept private, not give any notice to the stores!

Review: Correction: Sephora cast members are no longer required to only wear red lipstick, there is now freedom of expression. Also, the black glove is not used in the United States anymore, only overseas.

Review: One thing that people may not be aware of is that Sephora still has to make money to survive. So yes, there's no commission-based salesperson, but trust me, as a former employee, the pressure was intense to meet store quotas. Same game, different name. I love the store and its employees, but I became disgusted with the fact that top management worries more about numbers than its employees. When Hurricane Rita hit Houston, the store had to close. Afterwards, employees were told that those days off would be taking from their vacation time. So, where is the fairness? Sephora might be innovative, but they need to support their employees as well.
