Review: Good Review. But I have some points to make: About the two-star quality rating. My guess is that they combine with the previous model S40. The new model is built in another factory in Belgium. The previous model was made in the Netherlands. Furthermore, there is also a station of the S40--the V50. That would be my choice. About the engine, it really has to be said! That really sounds great!

Review: Mostly like the car BUT transmission (auto) clunks as it downshifts when slowing....like medical stuff--never happens at the dealer... But car otherwise great. Weird though to get only 20 around town (my pattern after 1 year) but then highway, at 80 mph it tops 30 mpg....double weird.

Review: I bought a 2005 2.4i a year ago, and the car's been great. Before buying the S40, I drove an SUV for 10+ years and completely forgot how much fun driving could be. No significant problems with the car, and this is the first car where putting the driver's seat all the way back is too far (I'm 6'2"). In contrast, I rented a brand new Subaru Legacy recently. With the seat all the way back and the steering wheel all the way up, I could barely get my right leg past the steering wheel getting into the car, and my head was always against the ceiling.
