Review: If I saw an ad with the picture of the bookbag with the keychains and writing on it I would roll my eyes. It is trying way too hard and no one would really decorate their bag to look that cheesy. To me that looks like an actual ad a company would try to print. I prefer the first one. It's not lying to me, it is just being realistic.

Review: I'm going to have to disagree with you, I really liked that Jansport advertisment. Personally, I think girls are way too obsessed with appearences and this ad conveys that not everything has to be gotti to look nice. Simplicity is unique in advertising and Jansport will be successful for quite some time as long as they keep their unique simplicity.

Review: Brains sell more than beauty. Some of the girls might not agree on the ad, some girls would - it depends what the target market or pyschographic profile of the customer is. This ad is witty because it makes fun of other ads and doesn't insult teenagers. A bag is a bag is a bag and is supposed to carry things. I think girls of today have enough brains and are more practical than what is projected by articles like this.

Review: I'm a 16 year old girl who has seen that
ad amongst the pages of "Seventeen" magazine. When I saw this ad, I
was very irritated. As a slight tomboy who is still quite girly,the fact that this was stated by a company trusted by many teen girls
made me feel uncomfortable and angry that Jansport would think this is
how girls would feel about their bookbags. Many girls use Jansport
bags to express themselves. I have friends who have Jansport bags like the one above. The negative and assuming nature of this ad turned me off completely. As a consumer, I wouldn't want to buy this bag because the company thinks I expect this from my bag; I expect it to just carry my stuff, not find true love. Nobody asked for true love from a bag.
Note the fact that bookbags do boost your self-esteem; what girl wouldn't want to look good, even if it's just for themselves? Bags are used to carry stuff as well as be stylish.
This is coming from the mind of a girl who Jansport is aiming for.

Review: Bravo!! So much ad space and so little time. Having two teenage girls, I related to this immediately. The funny thing is neither of my daughters would even consider buying this backpack before seeing the ads. They haven't addressed an evolving market where students have so much to carry that their backs are breaking! Also, with many students starting to carry laptops. As well their image is one of a nerdy bookworm type that most teenagers do not want to look like. It's amazing how much money is paid for ads like these and yet they fill our magazines.
