Review: This is very good for both companies on so many levels, but the largest impact that millions of people want to see is a 3D Mickey Mouse movie. Disney has not attempted to put Disney in 3D because of the lack of talent in the field. My friend and I keep up with what Disney produces and over the last 15 years, Disney has increasingly shown its lack of confidence to release a movie based on the core properties that established them in the beginning. I truly believe that Pixar was the answer that Disney was looking for in this specific department. We also have to consider that both sides would lose trillions of dollars by not producing the sequels to the Pear films. If Pixar under Disney operates as an autonomous division, then both will continue to produce awesome work.

Review: Jobs knows how to land in the right spot at the right time. Media distribution has changed. How many young kids sit at home and watch T.V.? Only the losers. Apple figured that the Internet is/was more about media than Time Warner ever figured out. By access to iTunes/Disney Channel/Music Apple could almost be the portable TV of the future.

Review: Pixar has the best understanding of CGI technology of any major player. Lasseter has great creativity and knows how to make animated stories that are compelling. Jobs is famous for his critical eye. If adding these three to Disney prevents the company from producing unpolished, unconvincing money-wasters, that alone would make the deal worthwhile. But, of course, there's also Steve's understanding of convergence, his business savvy, etc. So, I'm nervous, but very hopeful.

Review: It's the best of times and the worsts of times. The former for Jobs and his brilliant innovators gang, well deserved to finally have gotten the recognition through this acquisition. Congrats Steve. The latter for Disney, since after addopting a continuous failure road as a simply, "this is normal practice in the industry" they couln't realize that change was just coming about in its face in a brutal way. However I ask a hurray¡¡ for both Jos and Disney, best merger that could have happened: Big brandname plus Creativity powerhouse. Mau D'Oz Mexico City

Review: Content production and distribution, the two very important components of entertainment industry value chain, have been realigned with this new deal. With Steve Jobs now controlling Apple and Disney, the rest of the industry will have to find similar alignments. Sony with Microsoft? It's not entirely impossible if the PC remains at the center of digital distribution but as game consoles increasingly take center, Sony might decide to wait it out. Other movie studios however, will have to move faster to find a technology partner between Apple and Microsoft.

Review: Well DAG-GUM! If Disney absorbs Pixar, Pixar won't be the same. It will wither on the vine and dry up by 2010. At least Apple stands to benefit by leveraging Disney for content for the iTunes Video Store.

Review: I think this is a brilliant combination of companies. I work for a company affiliated with Disney and i believe adding wonderful minds like Steve Jobs and John Lasseter to the Disney company is going to have better then amazing results. Congratulations to Steve Jobs and the Disney/Pixar corporations!

Review: It's a beautiful day for Disney investors and Jobs followers as well (and who knows what group is bigger?). With Pixar and Jobs onboard, Disney has brought back the "magic" of yore (and the strategic advantage for the future). Big Hoorray for Iger, Jobs and their boards --and this comes from the bottom of my... portfolio ;-).
