Review: Bill Ford needs to realize that the problems at Ford can't be solved by eliminating jobs and new inovative designs. He should go back to the basics and see that his company's employees becomes customer orientated, improve quality initiatives and maintain customer loyality. I purchased Fords for many years. The last series of vehicles included a 1997 F-150 truck that had unsafe speed cotrol problems, 1998 LTD Explorer while living in Mexico, a 2000 LTD Expedition with a weak front-end and finally a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition. The 2003 Expedition was a complete lemon due to rear-end problems and it became necessary to return the car to Ford. Instead of taking care of a loyal customer and trying to see that we came away with an equal replacement vehicle at a reasonable cost, we were forced to accept a very unsatisfactory low cash sale arrangement. I will never again buy a Ford.

Review: The decision to restructure Ford should have come a long time back but it is better late than never. It seems right to cut down on plants to utilise the remaining plants to full capacity. The decision to cut down on whilte collar jobs would certainly make Ford's book look impressive. I feel Ford should consider repositioning their brand as credible and quality to be at par with others in the minds of consumer. Currently, I perceive Ford as an expensive, luxurious but an unrelaible brand. So I think Ford must realise that we consumers want quality cars at an acceptable cost.Ford has an advantage of being a US manufacturer over Toyota, so it must find ways to capitalise on that.

Review: Build cars that have great features and capture interest and emotion. Carlos rebuilt Nissan by cutting internal fat. Cheaper cars won't do it. Don't let finance run your show.

Review: Ford needs to make American cars that supply the customer with a superb ride. Liquid suspension, instant acceleration and power in reserve. All traits only true American cars have. Please, no so-called European sophistication. You call BMW's front Mcpherson struts high tech? Sixes that rev beyond 8 grand? What's the point? The Asian philosophy was to take an American car and make it better. And that's where we're now. They've gotten pretty good at it.

Review: Ford, aren't you tired of being the No. #2 automaker for the last decade? Obviously you have no plans to jump ahead of your No. 1 competitor (GM). Well, like they say, second place is the first loser. Let's get rid of some of the lineups such as those minivans, Ford Explorer trucks, and Expedition XLS, XLT trims and stick with eddie power & XLT sport. It makes no sense to have more than two trims on the same vehicle. And most of all put some styling all around your vehicles and especially more power needed for the Lincoln Navigator to compete with the Escalade--please!

Review: Hi guys, time Ford looked to Europe and European auto designers and to Japan for quality workmanship and reliability engineers. These two distinct capabilities when married together will serve N Amen auto-makers well for now. I have travelled to the US for some 20 plus years now and initailly was shocked at the state of the motor industry ie, the poor( some would say tasteless)design features and sloppy/come wooly suspensions coupled with gas guzzling v 6's and v 8's (in my opinion) had no place in the modern auto world. That was then but over the years American Auto Makers have been in 'catch up mode'. Sadly, the rest of the world has moved on and America remains in catch up mode. Some serious thinking has to be done by the three main auto makers in order to take on the Japanese and Europeans if your auto industry is to survive. Better hurry before the men in the East get their act together because when they do, we might as well shut up shop and do something they haven't yet got into.

Review: I just wonder why the media has attacked the American car makers while glorifying the foreign ones. It seems they only detail the gloom and doom, when speaking on Ford and GM while making Toyota and Honda out to be media darlings.

Review: As a holder of the Preferred A Series I fear Ford has no way to go but down;however, I decided to hold my stock until February 22 2006. I pray for a recovery

Review: I wrote to Bill Ford about bringing back the Ford Fiesta as it got around 39/49mpg when I bought mine in 1979...it was a great car that lasted 15yrs without the extended warranty that the foreign carmakers offer.. it would certainly make Ford much more profitable & it is classic for those of us who value the original 'mini suv' as it was just like the VW rabbit & fit into small parking places as well...I really loved that car. On the other hand, it is made in Germany now still & sold world-wide. Doesn't that make good business sense?

Review: I think Ford is in real trouble. They will continue to lose marketshare over the next few years no matter what Bill Ford has in plan for them. The best thing they did was sell Hertz. Hertz's cars, employees and service have become awful over the past few years as well. Dumping Hertz can only be a benefit. They are the worst rental company out there today! But overall, Ford will struggle in the future and the article spelled that out very well.
