Review: Is there any innovation in GM or any American car companies?
"Re-tro" is what they call innovation?

Review: I am a 18 year old living in Indiana and for the last three years I have spent all of my waking hours on my 1968 Camaro. I can't wait for the new Camaro to come out. I feel that if Chevy comes out with the new restyled Camaro, all age groups will fall in love with it and it will be one of Chevy's best selling cars

Review: The corporate leadership in Detroit have failed year after year to compete with the Japanese in all areas, from styling to reliability. As a result, thousands of hard working folks are getting canned. How many more marketshare-losing quarters will it take for execs at the Big 3 to become better at this business?

Review: OK, GM wake up! I am not a male mid-life crisis Camaro driver! I have a 2000 SS and love it. I had always bought a new car every two years until I got the Camaro. Since then, my husband has bought two different Mustangs hoping to wean me off the Camaro. It ain't going to happen. I still have people in all age groups approach the car wanting to talk about it, just like when it was brand new. There is a whole market out there you are ignoring!

Review: What do you know about what the younger generation will or won't buy, Pops? I'd toss a Japanese car for that sweet Camaro anyday, and I'd bet that corn-cob pipe of yours the 200,000 units sold would back up the current appeal to get this in production. A decent Camaro (not one of the 80's-90's p.o.s's) will sell huge among guys at every age group, trust.

Review: Oh, give it a rest! We were hot for those '50s & '60s cars because a few had real appeal and no competition. But today, with dependable, value-holding vehicles from Japan and Europe this is just more lipstick on a very tired, old sow!
It takes more than raw horsepower and nostalgia for Geriatric Malaise (and their kin) to win over today's smart driver.
And do they truly believe I'm going to pay some UAW guy $50-$60 an hour to put "male" electrical conduits into "female" receptors, tighten a few screws, or (best of all!) sit back and collect 80-90% of their pay while "laid off"? No way, Goober!
Then, share with us, your stories of your "unbridled joy" in dealing with the hucksters in the showrooms, flogging way overpriced scows! And then, don't forget to share with us the pleasure of dealing with the "service'department!"
We owned our last Detroit garbage-scow back in the early 90s. Never again.

Review: Ah, did I miss something? What is an article about a new Camaro without the picture?

Review: GM's encore of the Camaro is a great thing and I hope Mr. Lutz will push forward. However, GM fails to realize they should have started this up to speed the program in 1983. If they had Camaros would still be in production. The problem is that GM does not really understand the Camaro appeal to the consumer, even though they think they do.
Focusing on the younger age group or any age group will be a ignorant mistake with this car. For instance, I restore Camaros and design updated components for my cars. I am a baby boomer not going through a mid-life crisis but consumed with everything Camaro at work and at home. And when I drive my '69 or a customer's '68 or '67 and park it, I have a lot of kids getting out of Hondas to admire it and the baby boomers as well.
It's all in the design and the new Camaro is not there yet. Maybe GM could use some help from this old school Camaro buff, who happens to be a design artist, as well.
All you have to do is ask Mr. Lutz!
