Review: A wise Bedouin landscape contractor friend of mine once said, "Just don't whine, please don't whine." Seems that is the only thing many leaders in the Middle East are doing. Please, don't you whine too.

Review: Actually the only universities that exist in the Palestinian territories, or that ever existed there, are those that were set up under Israeli rule.

Review: >> Response to: "Over 2 million Palestinians live as refugees, impoverished in refugee camps without human rights or access to a decent education all because they live on land occupied by the Israeli military." Well, Israel pulled out of Aza. The million Arabs there are still living in refugee camps. And they will stay there. Why? Because the Arab countries want to keep them there as a festering wound for a breeding ground for generation after generation of new terrorists.

Review: Response to One. Do not the Arab and Muslim ountries have enough of their own massive funding? From all that oil? If money is all you need then why haven't they developed their own international quality high tech industry?

Review: American, your comments are based on a serious misunderstanding. Israel did not invade Palestine: there was no place called Palestine in 1967. Israel engaged in a war of existence, and in doing so was attacked by Jordan, which controlled the so-called West Bank de facto. Only Britain and Pakistan recognized the Jordanian occupation of this area. Until 1950, the name of the Jerusalem Post was The Palestine Post; the journal of the Zionist Organization of America was New Palestine; Bank Leumi was the Anglo-Palestine Bank; the Israel Electric Company was the Palestine Electric Co.; there was the Palestine Foundation Fund and the Palestine Philharmonic. All these were Jewish organizations. In general, the terms Palestine and Palestinian referred to the region of Palestine as it was. Thus, "Palestinian Jew" and "Palestinian Arab" are straightforward expressions. "Palestine Post" and "Palestine Philharmonic" refer to these bodies as they existed in a place then known as Palestine.

Review: Gorby67, prehaps you should review some of the Middle East region history. What you call "terrorism" is resistance--cruel, true--to the invasion of Israel to Palestine in 1967. How can an invading country be a model of democracy to neighboring countries when it is regarded as the enemy? When Israel gives back all the terrorities it invaded in 1967 only then you might start saying that Israel is a model in the region. Peace and cheers,

Review: I second Silverman. How can a country established in 1948 become so much advanced in high tech without outside massive funding? In the above article, replace "Israel" with "The US", it will make it clearer.

Review: Israel is a fantastic country as far as I know. Its Arab neighbours should copy their excellent model instead of complaining all the time about democracy (which its neighbors don't have) and Palestine, which is now free to run itself. More education and no terrorism is what is needed in the region. Israel is a model and countless scientists of Israeli origin have made big contributions to medicine and science.

Review: Innovation is the key Israeli companies have been very strong in developing innovative products and technologies--and not only in the classic "high tech" sector. Great new products have come from traditional industries such as plastics, packaging, medical devices, and consumer products. In addition, many Israeli companies have opened US production facilities, tech support centers, and sales offices in recent years, providing faster and better service to US companies. There are great opportunities with these companies. Chuck Klein Author of " Marketing to America" (Prentice Hall/Financial Times)

Review: Israel, the last apartheid nation that refers to itself as a "democracy". Israel is no democracy. Over two million Palestinians live as refugees, impoverished in refugee camps without human rights or access to a decent education all because they live on land occupied by the Israeli military. Israel receives over $10 Million of foreign aid from the U.S. every day. That's over $3.5 Billion per year of American taxpayer money going to support Israel's apartheid government. American taxpayers have given more to Israel over the last 30 years than any other nation in the world. No wonder Israel has such great high tech jobs, they built their tech industry on the back of the American taxpayer. Our Congress keeps writing Israel checks because they get campaign funds from pro-Israeli groups such as the American Israeli Political Action Committee. No Congressman wants to go up challenge AIPAC. Opposing an AIPAC position is a quick way to lose campaign donations and the next election.
