Review: I totally agree with the both of you ,and I'm having a bit of a problem myself. I am im my mid 20s and have a great idea for something, but it's really hard to get it out there! I want to bring it to Great Britain but I haven't been able to find any innovation companies listed anywhere in England! Can one of you please help me? I'd really appreciate it. I need a couple of names of companies in England that deal with innovation!

Review: I completely agree with gorby. I'm working in Spain, too, as a creativity and innovation consultant. Despite its apparent sunny and friendly side, work culture here is at least 30 years late: "You're not paid to think" is still heard here and there in some Spanish companies. Something like the "Cox Review" is still inconceivable here and it makes me want to pack my stuff and book a one-way flight to London. Still, I think there's some reason for hope (that's why I decided to move and work here) as I consider creativity as an unstoppable, necessary wave that will determine the survivors of the future. Besides, Spain has unique gifts, in terms of quality of life. If mangers shift their paradigms quick enough, the country can turn into one of the best places to live and work. Review: I have read with much interest the report from your correspondent in Paris. I have lived for five years in the UK and worked as consultant in management and marketing. Now in Spain as a consultant I find the same problems here.
The results of the survey do not surprise me for several reasons:
1. Innovation and creativity cannot be achieved by a country where business is stifled by so much formality in thinking and dressing etc. I have found before becoming a consultant how companies did not have a clue or were scared about lateral thinking, new innovative ideas etc.
2. When you discriminate against people based on their age (as in my case with seven years experience) and set up these stupid barriers, how can you expect creativity and innovation?
3. Creativity and innovation come as well from creating a diversified workforce in age as well as in racial quotas.
4. You cannot promote the above qualities when research is paid peanuts.
