Review: On your point that Apple spends plenty on advertising, this is only true in the US. In Europe, Dell is everywhere, including TV, radio, and print even in a small market like Ireland. As for Apple, most folks here are only aware that they make iPod! The first ever TV ad campaign here was this month for a couple of days for iPod, compared to daily, monthly ongoing campaigns for Dell. Apple is way too US centric and loses market share as a result.

Review: No way Apple is going to brand Intel extensively. It's going to be in the specs-- and that's it. Apple is trying hard to differentiate itself from the rest of the wolf pack. The tacky "Intel Inside" stuff would remove some of the allure and elegance of Apple.

Review: There'll be no Intel sticker on any Apple computer, that's a given. Perhaps an Intel sticker will be included with the white Apple sticker. The Intel logo may also appear on the shipping box, manuals, print ads, etc. The statup chime will likely remain the same, and there probably won't be any use of the Intel 4-note chime during ads. That's how my money will be bet. ;-)

Review: My guess: no Intel Inside or Centrino sticker on the laptop itself, but possibly something on the startup "splash" screen and maybe a change to the startup sound. I can't see them allowing anything that would compromise the product design (they never bother with ATI stickers as on some laptops).

Review: Remember, it's always about the Bejamins! How much "for how long" will determine whether or not Apple caves for the dollars.

Review: Why would they want to put the logo on Apple Mac computer products? The processor change is an important step for Apple to deliver the products they want for their customers. However, the fundamental ideology and principles of the Mac don't need to change - Mac's are on a high. In my opinion, it will be a case of thanks for the processor, but Apple is still Apple and Mac's are still Mac's.

Review: wmd, there's a difference between short-term dollars and long-term dollars. For Apple's long-term growth strategy to continue to pay off, they would be foolish to make a Pavlovian puddle willfully portraying themselves as just another also-ran commodity vendor.

Review: Mr. Hesseldahl brings up a very interesting question. For years, Macs proudly bore the PowerPC label, so why not Intel? The PowerPC labels seemed to disappear around the time that Mr. Jobs returned to Apple, so that may be some indication as to where he stands. Maybe they could compromise with a more tasteful "Apple Logo Gray" Intel logo.
