Review: Hauwei is running scared. The company has been stealing technology as fast as it can and will be viewed by the rest of the world as untrustworthy.
Cisco always takes the high road and has built over 80 percent of the Internet over the last 20 years. Any company that partners up with Cisco will win, while losers will flock to Hauwei.
When top management at Hauwei goes to jail the company will collaspe......you cant steal your way to success....it always gets you in the end.

Review: They have difference culture,I don't think it's a good alliance. and it's too late also. Actually, I don;t think Cisco will share the tech with ZTE

Review: Yes, this event is too late for Cisco. ZTE is a much smaller company than Huawei in China and doesn't have as big a product line as Huawei.
There is no doubt that telecom service will keep integrating. Huawei has both networking and wireless technology that can help the company adapt to the change. Hope more competition brings more opportunity to the industry.

Review: The sleeping lion has woke up slightly late. Huawei is too far ahead in the game with great Tier 1 & Tier 2 telco business in all emerging markets in Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe (What a simple but powerful strategy to first go to emerging markets, under Cisco's radar screen, instead of battling Cisco in its home US market!) In the second phase, Huawei moved into Western Europe and captured incumbant business at British Telecom's Century 21 project and the recently announced Vodafone deal. Now Huawei is ready to attack Cisco in its home market of North America through its Futurewei US subsidiary. Cisco's joint venture with ZTE in China is too little, too late! As a matter of fact, I don't think Cisco will be around 3 to 5 years from now.The only thing I am not sure is if Cisco will be sold in one piece or in parts!

Review: If Cisco is able to ally with ZTE, I think it is a big event in IT and Telecommunction not only in China, but also in the world. The two have what they want from each other. ZTE focuses on telecoms and Cisco focuses on enterprises. If Cisco wants to continue to hold the leading position on IP technology and take the lead in NGN and telecom technology, it must purchase or ally with a relative strong telecom manufacturer. This is a direct and fast way to gain the abilities to compete with the dominant telecom manufacturers in the world. David Hu form Guangzhou, China.

Review: Teaming up with ZTE may be a good bet for Cisco. Cisco can not afford to keep losing market shares in China.
