Review: This is a positive development.
Nevertheless, using Firefox on Linux has probably provided me much more protection. I get pop-ups occasionally using this system, but it has never been the nightmare that Windows can be. In fact, I switched to Linux after my Windows XP turned into a pop-up circus. So many pop-ups I could not use the computer, and it took hours to get the adware off. Some of it was very malicious.
Any effort to curtail pop-ups on Windows is great news, I am sure, for lots of people.

Review: Great. They can start by removing their toolbar that comes with the messenger, which no one knows how to remove. Removing it through the control panel does not work.

Review: Adware and Gain drive me nuts. These pop-ups should be prohibited from use or be required to have the option of permanent deletion. Thanks for your story.
