Review: I always believe that Sun is one of three (IBM, HP and SUN) reliable and performance-centric HW vendors. It's very good to see their rebound.

Review: Sun's insistence on using their Solaris operating system instead of Linux is proof enough that they won't be pulling out of their decline anytime soon.

Review: Thanks BW, for an uncommonly (professional),substantive, informative, & incisive piece on SUN. One note: when discussing sun's post-bubble decline, why is there constant media ommission of the more significant market realities which have and continue to keep SUN stalled: Meaning: Dead in the water IT spending for 5 years now; reversals of fortune for formerly HUGE sun customers such as Telco, and intractable recession in Japan and Germany, on which SUN was highly revenue dependent. It's as though a law was passed: Attribute Sun's post-bubble decline solely to the collapse of the speculative fly-by-nights. This is NOT the true story. Let's see some better research & reporting on this particular subject. Thanks.

Review: Sun always has excellent products both hardware and software. It's about time that the company regains its confidence and be what they are. Provide goods and service beyond the average norm. Let others do stuff for the masses. Sun should focus on their high end market and charge the customers accordingly. Sun should have a readily available Sun turnkey Computer Center ready any time and can be shipped and installed anywhere at a specified time.

Review: I think Sun made an excellent bet with the AMD Opteron. These systems are very fast and great.

Review: It appears that Sun is coming out of the doldrums, and for that I'm very glad.

Review: HP a Sun reseller? Are you kidding? HP ships like 50 times the amount of Opteron based systems as Sun. Somebody is obviously bowing to a simple Sun propoganda piece.

Review: I am impressed with the news related with Sun.
I think the company will start new developments and become a premier investment option.

Review: I certainly like what I'm seeing from Sun - their Solaris and AMD roadmaps are very impressive, the new Niagara technology sounds amazing. I'm wondering how HP and IBM will respond? In my opinion, HP should think seriously about becoming a Sun reseller, they need the technology.
