Review: "If you look at sales figures, you'll find that console gaming is growing much faster than PC gaming." Forget trend lines, man, and think. Trend or Fad? Fad.

Review: Clearly the author and his "analyst" sources know nothing about the gaming industry, mass production, or marketing either. It amazes me that these idiots can move a stock.

Review: Only big ticket games will be backward compatible because Microsoft will have to progam a custom conversion. Who wants to play old, low res. games anyway? Current owners of Xbox games still have their old Xbox.

Review: You can be sure that the 360 will be flying off the shelves this holiday season. All preorder allocations have been sold out for weeks now (just try and find one available). The $399 price tag is in line with a new console release, considering the previous Xbox was around that price point when it was first released.

Review: Game consoles are passe? If you look at sales figures, you'll find that console gaming is growing much faster than PC gaming (which is getting an ever smaller piece of the games industry pie). And to suggest selling fewer Xboxes would be good for Microsoft is ludicrous. Even if they do take a loss on the sale of the console (which I know was true at some point for the original Xbox, but I'm not sure that's the case for the 360), they make it back from sales of the games for the console.

Review: Come on guys. How many times have you gone back to play your old games. I don't think I ever played a PS1 game on the PS2. Once its out you can't go back to those old games. I don't think its that big of a selling point. I just hope that I am able to get one once its out. The PS2 was hard to get. People were camped out in front of Best Buy.

Review: The consoles come in two prices $299 and $399. The
$299 is not backwards compatible, but you can buy an add on. The $399 is the full console with all the extras. I think they priced it too high and are closing people out of the market. They might meet expectations over the long run, but not at its release

Review: Game boxes are passe. You can buy a Mac Mini or a starter Dell for about 500 clams now; granted you won't get the world's best garphics card, but you'll be able to do a whole more overall.

Review: Actually, the two gentleman are incorrect. The 360 is backwards compatible if you buy it with a hard drive. My understanding from what retail and the industry is saying in the UK is that the base machine is not backwards compatible but the 279-pound version with the hard drive, wireless adaptor and other extras is.

Review: The #1 reason why the "new" Xbox ain't flying out of stores is because it will not play the older version of video games! No one is going to replace every game they own because Microsoft said so. I hope SONY is taking notes!!
