Review: Satellite service so slow it goes down when it rains and has PING times that increased by factors of 10 times in the last year is NOT what you want for phone service. No, Malone doesn't want WB for phone VOIP I hear he is trying to get Hughesnet's CC business.

Review: While visiting John Malone in his Denver TCI office in 1972, he showed me a spherical object hanging in his window. Pointing to it, he said "that is the future". He was pointing to a mockup of a home dish that would receive a satellite signal. I was shocked because TCI was all about cable at the time. His wish to be in the satellite business is about to come true - for better or worse.

Review: WildBlue isn't a serious prospect for Internet phone service given the latency of satellite communications.

Review: Sounds like The Cable Cowboy might be back. (The Cable Cowboy is great book that describes the labyrinth called Malone. The book is by Mark Robichaux)

Review: Interesting perspective especially given the slow down of satellite tv growth. Probably right on.
