Review: This is the right vision. I have a Sansa and I have a Rhapsody subscription. Even with 4 GB Sansa I never have enough space for everything I want (why can't it all just follow me?). Been listening to Rhapsody through my computer/stereo system for 2 years. You can't beat it. It is like having every song on earth and your own personal DJ to spin it all for you.

Review: This is what I saw coming when Zune was announced. With Microsoft abandoning its "Plays For Sure" service, Sandisk is working with Real, Napster is up for sale and Samsung is considering its own service. This partnership is intriguing because Sandisk is emerging as a powerful alternative to Apple. Their hardware doesn't suck, and they have built-in economies with their memory manufacturing, so they're able to undercut Apple and help retailers. And so their players have been featured in every electronics flyer for 3 or so months. Their players are credible hardware, which is more than Zune can say, esp. at that price.
The labels should be concerned. Microsoft is unable to patch their software for DRM. All the iPod challengers do MP3s reliablly better than any other format. And the cell phone companies have been unable to sell music. So they've completely lost control. Even Sony, which actually sells hardware, can't sell its own music.

Review: I love how, when talking about Microsoft and then Real, he switches from "proprietary" to "end-to-end."
