Currently living in Samara, Russia on a 3yr contract. Corruption is a huge problem here, especially in government bodies. IKEA should stand it's ground and not be lured into paying the corruption fees to open the store. Should anyone be visiting or coming to live here be prepared to pay the police each time your stopped whilst they 'check' your documentation. If you do well in business, expect some Russian losers to pay you a visit requesting a share of your hard earned cash whilst they 'protect' your property!
