What significant drug has Canada produced in the last 100 years? They benefit (as does the rest of the world) from American pharma R&D. Banning pharma advertising is socialist a red-herring. The solution can be found at www.insavance.com. Go there. Read. Learn. And for God's sake, join!

not sure why business wants to keep the health care benefit. They complain about the cost a lot to seem to fit that into their view. I could a national program that only covered what might be termed as health maintenance, with the individual has the option of adding additional coverage at their own cost (or maybe the employer picks it up). the biggest problem with health care is that we don't take care of the small things (when it cheap) until they get big (and expensive). course today every body is putting all of it off unless they absolutely have too!

Another major intiative to reduce health care administrative costs is electronic transaction exchanges(HIPAA) between provider and payer..In New York the project is called LINXUS which has the major insurers and providers as participants..it has taken a few years to electronically connect us to pass standard transactions and we are well on our way to reducing our labor intensive processes..
