Korean educationsystem

I don't see why Korea can even rated as innovative. Despite being called a "developed" country but during its history all the way from industrialisation up to this point, they are still unable to contribute to the world any useful scientific discoveries or anything ground breaking. Even their country government admits that their education system is very bad, despite learning a lot, their students don't have the sense of innovation or creativity, it's just a rote memorisation. Korean products were only improved recently due to the hands of the Europeans/Americans. For example, KIA was only improved because of a German. I thereby really do think South Korea is being overrated. Did you know that South Korea's high speed railway technology Hyundai Rotem started off by reverse engineering France's TGV technology, French TGV still has the records of this and they are still very upset.

The comment about Korean cars is so funny. Here is a quick reminder of "quality" Korean cars for you : Hyundai Excel and Pony. Now keep laughing. You can't really class the Korean and Japanese cars together, they still don't belong to the same league.Btw where is India on the list ? I thought India is the land of rules of laws, respect IP, the revolutionary tata Nano, and advanced software. Sigh....nvm, so much for the fibbing

The Chinese are full of BS. They will lie to your face and go so far as to blame the buyer when something goes wrong with their inferior products (made to sell not to last). If that constitutes a value proposition then we have nothing to worry about except avoiding becoming a victim of their questionable products/ethics; not to mention their huge counterfeit product production.

Manas Thakre, I never knew that GE was part of the FED, did you? If you 'Google' this- WHO OWNS THE FED?, you can go to that site and read the chart of ownership and all of the related charts. GE, Chrysler, GM, Wachovia, 3M, Squibb, and many others are all part of the FED, according to those charts, right? I guess that's why GM & Chrysler were "bailed-out" with TARP money, huh? Question: Do you think that the FED owns, or 'controls', the U.S. government too? And if your answer is "Yes", then does that mean that the FED owns the Military? Let me know what you think. Thanks

The Chinese are not first in high speed rail because their trains are all Japanese and Euro origin. Ask the Japanese. The only thing they are first in is population.

Its not a surprise that the top few names are constant and companies like Apple, Google are still on the top of the curve. I wont say GE lost its charm since it went down few positions, but still being an old company and with executives like Jack Welch and present CEO Jeff Emelt on board, we need to expect more from GE for sure... Rest its nice to see many Asian companies in top 50 which literally shows the shift in usual show of west towards east...
