Dragon Warrior Mar 16, 2010 4:13 PM GMT India is a joke of a country. They like to claim that there "democracy" and their "justice system" and "their over abundance of young people" and "the comical claim of their finance minister" that india will grow faster than CHINA in the next few years will actually make it happen. What indians neglect to realize is that many factors influence such a claim: efficiency of your system, effectiveness of govt policies, willingness to work hard and make sacrifices for family and country, the country's external relations with many allies, etc. etc. With that in mind I have no doubt that my country of CHINA will always be much farther ahead than india.

What he and other Indians like him won't tell you is that Indians are also 100% of cabbies in New York and 100% 7-11 clerks too. Indians are the only goup of people who are arrogantly goes around boasting about how superior they are to other ethnic group in the US. Indians are like 0% in the US' military service and 0% of athletes. You can't find any Indian playing in any sports. Americans loves their soilders and their athletes and you'll never see any Indian there.

@Beth Pellet Levine is grASSley anti-curry staffer Mar 16, 2010 1:50 AM GMT Indians do not have any divine or legal right to American jobs. Free trade does not imply that any countries have to take in bodies from another country. Buying a manufactured good from India is different than allowing an Indian to work in the US. Once an Indian gets to the US on H1b, they can apply for a Greencard since they are on a legal status in the country. One the Indian gets a GC, they are here forever along with their spouse and offspring. Many bring their parents and relatives over who qualify for Social Security and other benefits under current law. This all has an impact on the environment and US budget. A manufactured good eventually gets consumed and goes away. An Indian never goes away but keeps growing and growing.....

@PrVC Mar 16, 2010 12:01 AM GMT Why should American medical colleges limit enrollment to US citizens and then the government turn around and let Indian doctors in the country. That does not make sense either for the US or India. India needs those doctors in rural areas but they come here to chase American dollars that should be going to American citizens.

@PrVC Mar 15, 2010 11:58 PM GMT According to Indians, Americans can't oppose Indians working in America. It seems India has plenty to say about foreigners trying to work in Bollywood. This is from Times of India, "After targeting north Indians, Raj Thackeray-led MNS has launched a campaign against foreigners employed with Bollywood. However, MNS will not target those foreigners who work in movies to fulfil scriptsâ?? requirements. MNS has also demanded roles for junior artist, preferably Marathis. "

@PrVC Mar 15, 2010 11:36 PM GMT Also, a recent Economic Times article blamed the stalled arms sells on the inefficient India procurement agencies. Look it up yourself.
