'Another Indian caught for taking a bribe + FRAUD! ' May 4, 2010 1:17 PM GMT 'A Homeland Security employee was convicted of alien harboring, taking a bribe and computer intrusion. The 54-year-old Hasmukh Patel, who earlier worked with Citizenship and Immigration Services has been convicted of conspiring to encourage and induce aliens to come to and reside in the United States. Patel''s position enabled him the power to decide whether some foreigners could receive the benefits of permanent residency and, ultimately, citizenship. For his own financial gain, Patel received bribe money in return for committing fraudulent statements to the US Dept. of Labor and the Dept. of Homeland Security. Authorized access on his government computer was also exceeded. Witnesses testified that Patel, an Indian-American, took actions to bring an Indian couple to this country based on fraudulent work visas. Patel was paid $100,000 to bring the married couple into the United States. The visa application stated the foreign national woman would work in his home - but she never did. Although Petal wrote checks to the female visa recipient she and her husband were actually working at the family convenience store in Georgia.'

John Mar 9, 2010 3:07 PM GMT Walmart was founded in America and they USED to pride themselves on supporting American businesses. However now Walmart almost all products from China. An American company recently reported it had landed a contract with Walmart just to be told they WOULD HAVE to close their production to China to keep their contract. Importing talent from overseas is NO garantee of jobs in America! Bottom line on American jobs and economy: STOP INPORTING ALL THAT WE DO FROM CHINA! Most all technological advances are born in the United States and raised in China. That is what has to change. Making laws and federal programs raises the cost of government and importing one person surely will do NOTHING for the 10 million unemployed in AMERICA! This is just more bad government that will serve the rich that will benefit from buying a foreigner to the work Americans can and want to do.

name not provided Feb 17, 2010 12:32 AM GMT ...not actually worth commenting on...mostly pseudo science and conjecture "talented, tech-savvy" US Citizens are HURTING for jobs...that is a FACT...outsourcing more TECH jobs to India will not improve the US economy...this is the same silliness that was presented a few decades back when the same ilk presented that manufacturing leaving these shores would actually IMPROVE the quality of life because it would foster the "Information Economy" which would improve life and provide benefit to all. Now we are suggesting giving that away, as well? We all can't cut each othersâ?? hair, make each other pizzas, sue each other, and move each others' money around. Someone MUST GENERATE WEALTH (you know, MAKE SOEMTHING)...

Mandalapa: Immigration-fraudy. had forged immigration papers for more than 250 foreigners. "He caused all of those people to work and live illegally in the United States," 5) B. Ramalinga Raju, and eight others for stealing millions of dollars from the company. 6) Sushil Bansal, charged with bribery of a public official, money laundering, wire fraud and conflict of interest. I could go on and on, too many to list here. Hopefully you get the idea.

J T Dec 27, 2009 3:22 AM GMT Why a resume to see if you could get a visa and/or start a successful company? What did the resume of Bill gates, Steve Jobs and others who started successful companies look like at the time. The idea sounds elitist to me and elitist never create the great companies. At best they can make a decent company of decent size. This has nothing to do with managing a company but growing one into a great company.How do you tell a potentially successful business. The failure rate is what, 4 out of 5? I bet a lot of those people had a great resume?

AJ Dec 24, 2009 6:52 AM GMT reasonably poor idea. all the current visas are being misused hugely - especially H1 and L1 as well as employment based green cards (even by blue chip companies lice Oracle for ex). what will ensure that this is not misused similarly? It is pretty much an open secret in high-tech areas how these things can be manipulated and system can be gamed. need to focus on buliding local capabilities rather than just keep on harping on getting 'best talent' from India/ China.Regards
