Erin Bury Jan 5, 2009 4:54 PM GMT Similar to networking, using social networks for recruiting can also be effective. Sites like RedWire (an online networking site for entrepreneurs) allow you to connect with other small business owners and entrepreneurs, who can recommend candidates, or may even be candidates themselves. You can also find events to attend through sites like these network in person as the posting recommends.

Art Koff Dec 20, 2008 1:44 PM GMT More and more small companies are turning to older workers who they can hire on a project basis to fill openings. They get experienced professionals who need less training and don't have to pay benefits. They can also off-board project based employees with little or no cost. Some firms have hired back their retired employees, while others have posted their openings on sites like RetiredBrains.com and Retirementjobs.com.

Bridget Reddick Dec 19, 2008 4:47 PM GMT This article (especially the accompanying slide show) seem pretty silly. What entrepreneur worth their salt can't think of all of these options in five minutes of dedicated attention? Howabout providing some original or creative suggestions?

Mark Honma, totepolls.com Dec 16, 2008 7:18 PM GMT As a small business owner, we usually look for talents with recommendations from friends, and from networking websites.Nowadays, it´s amazing how you can easily connect to people, and get referrals.Another source that we use a lot, is to contract a person as a free-lancer and later on check the perfomance. If the resource has good performance, then we can make a job offer for a permanent position.Mark Honma.

Jobs istestament to the fact that the military represents one of the best pools for candidates that often get overlooked when companies are putting together their recruitment strategies.
