shruti Aug 12, 2008 1:08 PM GMT Udai, what made you yhink that it is Indians who are blabberig. Internet is anonymous and lot of people can hide behind fake ID's with the intention of creating mischieve. In fact, i have come across many pakistanis pretending to be Indian and dissing India or some other country with the end goal of pissing indians either directly or indirectly by instigatig others via thier stupid comments.Frankly, BW comments doesnt reflect business mind. Sometimes i get the impression that these forums are populated by highschoolers and the modd is more Digg.com like rather than of business forum.

Udai Aug 12, 2008 12:48 PM GMT Phoo.. This looks like kids fighting over whos dad is best in school.. I am born and brought up in India but have lived in Europe. And I as Bob was mentioning I dont understand Why Indians come and blabber on BW forums, that its great and all. Infact I cant say that. Neither Can I say UK is or US is. The article is about Growing R&D in India and not about anything else. Personally whats happening now is still Services, as Indians are not doing R&D. they are just working for R&D companies in Bangalore. Theres a really long way.

Kant Aug 12, 2008 12:16 PM GMT I found the comments here far more interesting & amusing than the article.Indians as well as non-Indians commenting here please get facts right before hurling abuses at other cultures.Western culture is very different from Indian culture & both have its own shortcomings but also equally good positive aspects. Please do not expect INDIA to be like WEST,similarly do not expect WEST to be like India.Kindly keep interest in world history & culture from a modern human perspective before you can give your middle age views on an international forum.Venus : are you educated?shantanu chatterjee: "currently china is on trach to have 150mn+more males than females thanks to your enlightened one child policy" - What an uninformed statement, the above situation is due to preference for male child in China just like INDIA ,rather than their one child policy !!"eastern european engineers at at a disadvantage...etc etc " - have you ever been to Eastern Europe?? Do you know where majority of the Indian armed forces weapons originate from?Bob :Please refrain from using derogatory language,it reflects very much on your own culture the way you react here !

Mukund Aug 12, 2008 11:45 AM GMT RE:Bob - I can't argue with that. I have myself suggested staying on topic on other occasions, but I couldn't help myself here. You really got my goat with your comment.:)

Aamir Jan Aug 12, 2008 11:37 AM GMT So far, Indian "engineers" have been good at following processes designed by others. There is little (or no) invention or innovation done by Indian "engineers". To be a qualified Indian engineer is actually equivalent in education to a "technician" in other countries. A very small percentage of Indian qualified engineers are capable of original work. There is no far-reaching R&D in India, just mostly the routine "experimental" R&D. Indian culture and caste system are not geared to originality or recognition of merit.

shantanu chatterjee Aug 12, 2008 10:19 AM GMT eastern european engineers at at a disadvantage because1.wages are higher,2.they don't speak much english3.though better than indians on average are into stuff that nobody outsources like nuclear weapons design or critical materials sciences technology(this is my opinion of russia, but yeah man for man russian tech talent is definately an order of magnitude better than india or china.

Bob Aug 12, 2008 8:17 AM GMT Mukund, Good reply, I will give you 8 out of 10 for it! only tell me why would Venus feel it necessary to bring up this rubbish?. I would hope you would equally condemn his comments.I am however a lttle curious as to why the Indian readers feel the need to bray like donkeys everytime an article on BW mentions India moving ahead - do they have that much of an inferiority complex that they feel it necessary?
