uhh- if one person watches 6 broadcasts, that counts as six people. that is industry convention....

Hi -- I'm the writer. The 32 billion is the cumulative audience for the World Cup over the 28 days of the tournament (if you watch 10 games, you'll be counted 10 times). About 1.2 billion watched the World Cup finals in 2002. Thanks for reading the story.-- Stanley Holmes

Yeah, where did you get 32 billion people from? I didn't know aliens or E.Ts were interested in soccer. That just goes to show how condescending we Americans can be. Even aliens are more interested in the game than we are. No wonder about the 32 billion estimated viewers are expected to tune in, hope Germany is prepared for our alien visitors.
