NR Mar 10, 2010 3:24 AM GMT Karl,It's not "luck" it's called Observing Scheduled Maintenance=No Sludge. I've already mentioned the airbags being nothing more than a marketing ploy to make women feel "safe". What saves your life are the *SEAT BELTS* IF you have one on.And finally I won't be Googling ""Engine Sludge"/Sludge Poems2"-I don't need to-a reasonable person reading your posts would conclude you obviously have an axe to grind with Toyota and are looking for people to "convert" to your "cause". Sorry, can't help you--there are people out there who who have nothing but good experiences with Toyota products. I've been buying them since 1984 and would gladly do so again. Obama's hard on for Toyota/GM/Big Business needs to be a hard on for CREATING JOBS but he's in *WAY* over his head. To put it more eloquently:??I will not stand by and watch this great country destroy itself under mediocre leadership, that drifts from one crisis to the next, eroding our national will and purpose.? ?? Ronald Reagan, July 17, 1980.

Karl Mar 9, 2010 8:36 PM GMT NR, I wonder how all of the Toyota owners with "sludged engines", that don't run anymore, feel? You were one of the lucky ones, so far. Also, the only time you'll know when your airbags don't work is when you might need them to save your life, correct? Make sure to 'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website and read all of the complaints. And make sure to click on- 'Airbags' when you're there and read those complaints too, okay? Thank You. P.S. Did you 'Google' this- SLUDGE POEM 2, and read it yet?

NR Mar 9, 2010 5:42 PM GMT Karl, thanks for your concern but I'm Old School and see airbags for what they are--an invention of marketers to give women a false sense of security not unlike those front gates across the entrances to apartment complexes. As far as sludge goes I don't worry about that either--not with Mobile 1+more frequent than recommended drain intervals. I currently run Mobile 1 in all my Toyotas including my 1996 Avalon and my 1990 4x4 Toyota long bed pick up. Oh and by the way, my pickup has 307,000 miles on it and my Avalon has 166,000 on it and both run flawlessly. Change your oil religiously and you will be amazed how clean your engines stay and how many trouble free miles you can get out of them. Change your oil as an afterthought (or not at all) and then blame the manufacturer for sludge? That's what professional victims do. Bottom line, if you like Toyotas, buy them. If not, don't.

eric Mar 9, 2010 3:55 PM GMT I would hope that nothing bad happens to Lou, February 26 write-in, for wishing something bad on somebody. Are you really that stupid to think that Toyota is the only manufacturer that has done something illegally? The funy thing is, people always want to dig up the dirt and throw it Toyotas face. Toyota keeps their techs employeed, while "The other guys" and you know who I mean, keep your local shadetree mechanic in business. Good luck Lou when a Toyota picks you up on the side of the road.

chad Mar 9, 2010 3:46 PM GMT Why do some people stand there with their hands out looking for something free? My wife and I both own Toyotas and love them. If it is mechanical it can fail. We have an 09 xB and put our own floor mats in it. My wife will scoot the mats under the pedals so far that I have to get down and pull them out. Women are the worst drivers in the world when it comes to the floor mats being properly in place. I had an 86 model truck 2wd that had crossed the 300k mark, it had the 22r engine and that truck just ran like a new one after my brother bought it and then sold it. I blew a head gasket, which will happen when you drive it 20 miles after the fan belt broke. I do not have enough time to argue with the critics, the way I see it is, if you don't like them, don't buy them. I hate most other vehicles out there, but who complains the most and criticizes, the other guys? not the Toyota owners on you all the other brands. I have seen the good and bad in every vehicle, but Toyota by far stands behind their vahicles way more. My blue 94 2wd saw what mistreatment is!! Runs like a new one, so does my red 94 Toyota, its pushing 200k now. Toyota has a flaw now and then, every has to jump in. Stupid.

Karl Mar 8, 2010 3:49 PM GMT NR, I hope that your AIRBAGS deploy if you're ever in an accident in your Toyota. Many Toyota owners are saying that their AIRBAGS did not deploy when they were in accidents. You can 'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website and click on- 'Airbags' when you get there and read all of them, okay? Thank You

NR Mar 8, 2010 6:53 AM GMT "Witch hunt" is spot on.Never forget Dims are professional victims who will always go after the deep pockets--they'll find conspiracies where none exist--especially if they get the chance to go after a big corporation (they HATE big corporations-corporations "must be made to pay" for their "crimes").Bottom line, these Dim burnouts have smoked too many dubies & watched too many "X-Files" episodes-Toyota will emerge even STRONGER when it's all over-you heard it here first :)--Oh, did I mention I just bought ANOTHER Toyota?
