Government should be more serious in implementing demand side management using off-peak cooling as its tool. This means generate and store cool energy in the form of ice at night time then use the same for air conditioning. That would reduce or avoid peaking power plant operation at day time and improve base load power plant load factor at night.
Professional Engineers should be able to say more about the advantages when power system efficiecy has load factors.
Philippines or any other countries should look more into this technology as energy efficiency measure. It does also offer power plant operators to delay the construction of new power plants which would end with the same or worse efficiency as the present ones.

Sunday used to be a day of rest in America.Bars etc.closed(sort of).
Nuclear Power and a return to "blue laws" might have some use.
I personally doubt, given the enormous number of potential variables that can effect climate that the current models have any statistical validity to actually predict much of anything. I doubt the CO2 alarmists would have much use for any of these considerations.

Evidence shows that the "war on climate change" is already lost. We must resist our urge as to presume we can change history at enormous wasted social and economic (same thing) costs for humanity.
The costs of impact mitigation will be vastly less than the costs of changing the worlds entire energy, transportation and even organizational systems needed to support it.
Build a few new islands, help people relocate to less barren lands, protect and rescue species as much as we can - all terrible steps to have to contemplate, but still 5% of the upheaval next to compared to the other 95% of our global society.
The honest truth is that the decisions that got us into this situation were probably all made by our society back half a century ago. Time to end the denial and start dealing with it.

Symbolism or not ,it's not important thing . I think after such these widespread events , everyone knows how to save the energy, how to build one green world. Public medias keep the first role to help people know about the impact of CO2 or anything else to our planet. And they did a good job.Thank a lot.

Dennis is right, Earth hour is an awesome symbol of change but that change needs to be followed up by consumer action, if enough individual make small changes in how they use their resources and what purchases they make it will make a huge difference in the world.
These for example: http://www.solar-attic-fan-info.com/ the Solar attic fans, if everyone who lives in a hot climate bought one of these think about the impact that would make on the world? Not having to use your AC as much because your house is 5-10 degrees colder because of a solar power panel and a fan. Start with little simple solutions like these in your home, they make a big difference.

I agree with Steve. Although I knew about it I did not participate and know of no one that did. Only bleeding heart liberals and those not working for a living even think about these things. The rest of us are just trying to survive. Oh yeah, Steve is correct about climate change. It only profits those who need government and private grant funding to pay their wages. The rest of us work at a real job. Get a life folks. Stop believing everything you read or a pseudo scientist says. Use your brain for a change!! Have a great day!

Why would I believe someone who can't tell me with any reasonable degree of accuracy whether it's going to rain next Tuesday, when they try to tell me they know what the weather will be like in 20-30years? Also, I tend to scoff at any "science" presented to me by people who stand to profit from a given result. No, I didn't turn anything off for Earth hour, nor do I know anyone who did... In fact, most people I've talked to didn't even know about it.

You're kidding: GLOBAL WARMING?? Wasn't that debunked last year with the new swing in temperatures? I though the only ones pushing the global warming wagon anymore were the agenda-driven college professors and guilt-ridden liberals (no, that's not an oxymoron). Geez, people - wake up and read a science book!
