Lets get serious here, the only reason Ford wont sell this thing in America is because they were told not to by "big oil". These people (and the people who run them) are so greddy they dont give a crap about us and the fact that everything this nation stands for is about to take a dive. They just want to see profits. I say it's time for a little revolution because if our elected officials really spoke for us would any of this crap really be going on???

if people pay 100 grand for a car and or truck or suv for the looks what makes ford think that the people of the usa would not pay for a car that or truck that would get 65 mpgif you ask me they would not be able to keep up with damand. people have to turn to Toyota vehicals (TM) and Honda vehicals even korean vehicals just to get good gas milage.I know for a fact that all my union brothers would by that car with in the frist year also would build that plant in the states. Ford needs to grow a pair and come back to the usa .

It can be done...I have a F-250 4x4 supercab long bed DIESEL..With some thought of what your after you can make the most of what you have. From las vegas to parker Co. it got 24+MPG @55MPH Hauling a small load of about 1000lbs. DIESEL's are THE ANSWERS. too bad our own GOV..are trying to put the US auto-makers out of bussines for there own pockets and special interest group's

Sounds like Ford and G.M. are so scare of trying anything new. No wonder they are going down the tubes

I would love to be able to puchase a car like this. I'm sure it is very comfortable and new diesels are great. I am biased and have loved deisels when they were loud and smelly but wow. I think some good marketing and doing demo's on these newer cars would get a lot of people over there misconceptions

To all the U.S. Auto bashers...I own a 1998 Chevy Astro Cargo Van which I use daily for my business, it has 205,000 miles and I have done no major work and it gets 23 mpg. Also, I own a 2005 Chevy Impala with 55,000 miles, again no problems.I have owned Cutlass Supremes, Buick Regals, never a problem. You do not have to buy U.S but at least don't bash it.

Ed, I have have two American Chevrolet vehicles that I purchased new. One in 1999 and one in 2002, and since they are such great vehicles I have absolutely no reason at all to trade them in and would gladly place my Truck and Tahoe against any import that would be willing to hook up bumper to bumper. These are not modified in any way and my 1999 Chevrolet Truck (Truck of the year) is used daily for our business and has over 120,000 miles and has never been tuned up and still has the original set of brakes. The only thing that has broken is the universal joint from pulling a large cargo trailer long distance (7,000 lbs) and the truck appearently has a little too much power. So ED bring on your japanese and let's compare. By the way my extended cab 4 wheel drive gets 20 mpg on the highway. You won't find a import truck to do that.

I don't understand why Ford believes it would take a 350 million investment to build this engine in the U.S.,(or Mexico). But this is the company that dropped the Taurus and Windstar. This product WOULD sell in the U.S. If the buyer wanted to 'go green' they could use B20 biodiesel!

Pete, you need to open your eyes. American cars can only compete with foreign cars because of the protection they get. To even think anybody believes your statement that an american car will beat a japanese import is outragous.
