Paying $25,700 for this car as apposed to buying a decent used car for $8000, I would not be saving money. With the car payment and interest and full insurance, it still ain't worth it folks.

No, do some research it is too hard for them to meet our emissions regulations in the US, the companies that have diesel cars over here have been complaining about it for a long time.

VW diesels are selling out. Hybrids are selling over sticker price. Ford misses the boat yet again. They have an tremendous lack of vision and imagination at the top. We don't want anymore Taurus's. Tell me again why we are going to bail out the big three?

Ford is like McCain they have the ability to make a change but fail to do so, so all they do is play catch-up!

good idea for some, but doesnt fit soccer moms, owners of big dogs, guys who haul lots of tools, car poolers, people who spend hundreds of dollars at sams club or costco, etctheres more to a car than gas mileage. has it been crash tested? what kind of occupant protection does it have?since i drive only 3000 miles a year, my SUV's carbon footprint is smaller than someone who drives one of these 12,000-15,000 miles a year. and i dont have to give up my 6 air bags, cargo room, or comfort.altering lifestyles is better than changing vehicles.

That is the dumbest article and propaganda. You have people waiting on lists to buy diesel cars at VW. If you offered a car with that MPG you will see who the new Darling is. Americans love diesel but so far nobody will supply them to us. The government is the biggest part of the problem. A simple education program, with sensible tax relief and half our cars would be diesel!

"We just don't think North and South America would buy that many diesel cars," says Fields. At 60 mpg?? Try us!!!

We can't have this car because of the unions. American auto makers will never be able to compete on price because of the unions.
