lisa May 9, 2011 3:17 PM GMT It's amazing that with all of this R&D you'd think that ONE of these fast food chains could come up with headsets that actually work well.My biggest frustration is having to repeat my order 50 times and it still happens as often today, as it has in the past.I think McDonald's is the worst culprit. This should be the next focus.New headsets for their staff.

econobiker May 9, 2011 8:43 AM GMT Drive through usage has risen since child car safety seats were made mandatory by law. The logistics of getting the child or multiple children out and back into the vehicle have made the parents use drive through restaurant lanes more often. An unexamined and unintended consequence of safety requirements...

Strategery May 8, 2011 10:31 PM GMT Here's the thing about quality: customers don't like change, even if it's for the better. Ask KFC or Oreo cookie about switching to a trans fat free version of their product. They had to go out of their way to make sure the taste was the same. What's great about our "free market" is that no one is forcing you to eat at these establishments. Instead of telling Taco Bell to change their product (a suggestion that will fall on deaf ears anyway), why don't you go to a restaurant that is more to your liking?

Tim Flowers May 8, 2011 2:40 PM GMT Most fast food restaurants still seem to be focusing on speed, accuracy, and profits, rather than delivering high quality good tasting food. Taco Bell stands out in my mind for selling slop in a paper wrapper. Hardee's Red Burrito division sells a much higher quality product. And McDonald's still has some of the slowest service in the industry, at least around here. The more systems they put in, the slower they seem to get.

Old Stuff May 8, 2011 11:33 AM GMT Strategery is wrong. Many times I have gone inside and out with my order while others sit in line wasting gas.

Sherman McCoy May 8, 2011 7:59 AM GMT A lot of negative comments about what is objectively the least worst fast food out there. Some tofu and granola types must have read the article by mistake. I think Taco Bell makes a decent product. I don't think they need 78 items, and I wish they would upgrade the quality on at least one item - like a burrito, but I'm a fan and have been since '72.
