I don't understand what this is based on and how this could be considered valid. My university, Binghamton, seems to randomly jump allover the place. On campus, people tend to say that the Accounting majors are the Bing grads who found the most success. Two years ago, BusinessWeek agreed, ranking Binghamton #2 in Accounting. Suddenly, we've become COMPLETELY unnotable in Accounting according to Business Week.Meanwhile, some of our Departments which are not quite as celebrated on campus, like Economics appear to be some of Binghamton's STRONG points, according to this listing? This whole thing makes no sense to me

I found it interesting that Cal Poly which has international business program ranked 39th, higher than every other program it offers, is planning to no longer offer international business concentration to students. They will only allow current juniors and seniors who declared international business as their degree concentration to complete their degree before it will no longer be offered at cal poly.

It sure would be nice if there was a way to export the data (say into a .xls file) so that further analysis could be done. i.e. I want to know which of the 14 categories is most responsible for driving the rankings (amongst other questions). Please!LG

@Andrew: Isn't it possible for a school to be good at one thing and not good at others, just like people? (I'm pretty good at editing, but I'm lousy at brain surgery.) This ranking has nothing to do with the number of ethics courses or this alleged "lobbying" you mention--if they were going to lobby anyone to improve their ranking it would be me, and it hasn't happened. This ranking is based solely on our student survey as explained in the third paragraph of the story. Student satisfaction, pure and simple.Louis LavelleAssociate EditorBloomberg Businessweek

So let me get this straight. The University of Denver ranks almost dead last in every category but somehow ranks #2 in ethics and is thus has a decent ranking. I live in Denver and DU constantly advertises it #2 ethics ranking in either radio, TV or newspaper advertisements. Does the ranking have to do with the number of ethics courses the students are required to take or a survey that HR people fill out. Either way, I know that DU has been lobbying Business Week for the last 10 years to improve its ranking. I have not been impressed with either the school or the undergrad or graduate students that graduate from it.

I found it amazing that Northern Illinois is ranked at all. Number 3 in ethics??? Exactly what does that mean? These students are the most ethical? Maybe they could have interviewed me and asked me about the dishonest morons that I have worked with who went to NIU. Such a joke.
